...Rat had a bad heart. I think his 4th attack finally
took it's toll in March of '08. He knew his fate,
and lived every day to the fullest. The GGO just ain't the same, we all miss you. When I read all these comments and think of Rat, it makes me smile. Jimmy Conrad was right when he said that baseball made us a "band of brothers", and Rat was surely one of us. Rest well, #23, 'cause maybe when the rest of us get up there with you, Coach Love, and Coach Moore, we'll beat Brookland Cayce this time.

Ditto! Rat's last hurrah was the 2008 Greater Gentlemen's Open which was just two weeks before his death. I've posted on my profile the last known photo of Rat from the 2008 GGO. Rat always said he'd like for his ashes to be put in one of those big fireworks rockets and shot up on the 4th of July. Here's a video of his favorite tune which he always sang in Karaoke.

Steve was always the gentleman to me. He took me to the Jr/Sr our junior year -

I have many fond memories of Steve dating back to elementary school at Belleview.  We shared many of the same teachers and shared many of the same friends over the years.  He was a sincere person, enjoyed life, and a long-time friend.  He is missed...a rose for you, dear Steve!
