My best friend, my brother that I never had. Mike had my back even when he knew I was wrong. Mike had a beautiful voice. I can still hear Mike and Ken Dills singing "Let me call you sweetheart" to any girl that would listen. There's not a day that goes by that I don't think of Mike. Mike was killed in an auto accident in January, 1980. Way to young.
Mike and I grew up in the same neighborhood. He was always a freckled face little guy with a great big smile! As I recall, he was the only boy in the family with several sisters. I'm sure they gave him a hard time! I remember Mama talking about Mike coming over as a little fella and always asking for a "dookie"/aka cookie.
I remember Mike. I picture him with that black hair and brown eyes. He died before he could really fulfill all his potential, but he still lives in the memory of many of us.
