it's funny how our paths cross after school. i was a member at Bethel UMC for eight years and Sam and i shared teaching Sunday School duties. they don't come any better than Sam and his wife, Patti. this is the church i came out of when i went into the ministry. Sam was always an inspiration for me and Patti tried her best to teach me how to sing. but my gift is preaching and loving people.

Sammy's wife is choir director at my sister's church. According to my sister, Sammy was awaiting a liver transplant when he suffered kidney failure.I remember him as a sweet, gentle soul.
