Rev. Rick Sturgis

Rock Hill, South Carolina - Rev. Donald Frederick Sturgis, 70, passed away on Friday, January 28, 2022 at his home.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 31, 2022 at Catawba Baptist Church, with Rev. Jonathan Cox officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 pm-1:30 pm. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Born in Rock Hill, Rick "Mule" was the son of the late Leonard David Sturgis and the late Thelma Feemster Sturgis. He graduated from Rock Hill High School and worked for AB Poe Farmer's Exchange for 55 years. He loved life and was passionate about his Jesus first and foremost. He dearly loved his church family at Living by Faith and enjoyed loved talking about the Lord and sharing the gospel. When he found out that he had cancer, his first concern and his request was that you please pray for his Brenda, the love of his life.
Surviving are his wife of 9½ years, Brenda Steen Sturgis; two sons, Caleb Frederick (Sarah) Sturgis and Adam Brandon Sturgis; three bonus daughters, Jennifer Dianne Waldrop, Brandi (Bryan) Tarlton and Megan Waldrop; a bonus son, Philip (Vikki) Tankersley; six grandchildren, Madison Tarlton, Ellie Tarlton, Gunner Sturgis, William Moss, Ty Sturgis and Ambree Sturgis; and three brothers, David (Carla) Sturgis, Dan (Ginger) Sturgis and Dale (Nancy) Sturgis.
