I remember my daughter-in-law talking about her step-father's ex-wife battling brain cancer.  Didn't realize she was one of our classmates until I just read it here.  She had to have been a special perosn to adopt two boys----Jordan is the youngest and he is autistic.   She truly deserves a lot of roses.  I know your boys miss and love you Wanda.

Wanda and I meet when we were in the 7th grade in Fort Mill.   I was the new student in school from NC and was lucky when Wanda introduced herself and was my new best friend.  Through the next 4 years at Fort Mill we remained close friends.  At the end of our junior year Wanda told me she was moving to Rock Hill and we would not be graduating together and I knew my Senior year would not be as much fun with her moving.  Well lucky,  not long after I also moved to Rock Hill.  When I came to Rock Hill Wanda was there again to greet the new student; me.

Four years after graduation I moved to Hilton Head, SC and somewhere in there married and divorced.  I married again in 1978 and moved from the east coast to the west coast.  Wanda was the one that always went the extra mile to stay in touch and keep our friendship together.  When she died I felt a part of my childhood go with her.  She was my closest, long time childhood friend I had.  I have lots of friends but there has never been one like her.

Wanda loved God and her 2 boys.  She told me the last time I went to visit that she had a good life and was not afarid to die.  She said her only regret was she would not be on this earth to take care of her children and see them grow up.  Wanda was a good christian, quite, loving and soft spoken.  I miss her but know she is a real angel now.

Wanda was a great person and good friend. We lived close to each other and I frequently went past her house. Her parents were very special people. She was truly a wonderful Lady and mother.
